Size of Damsels vary depending on the species blue and chromide damsels stay relatively small. Gobies are very interesting and some even share their burrow with shrimp.

Personally I would say wait a while for the Yellow Tang , some surgeon fish get very large over 1ft. Clownfish don't get huge so you would be ok .

A few are but some are for the advanced hobbyist for example the psychedelic or mandarin goby the only really do well in reef setup 's.

Just start with the clownfish lol.

The main reason I want to know this is couse the tank I want to get is a 40 gallon and 8 don't want to only have clown fish in it lol
