Wanted: big fish without heater

I 'd rather wait till spring, than having a 200 gallon bin in my living room for one day.
And just because things work doesn't mean they are good always.
Transport, new environment, different water chemistry do have an impact on the immune system of fish.
Fast fluctuations in temperature add on it.
And one day is not slow yet imo.

Hi guys,

my nickname is no coincidence and due to no sane politics in my home country electricity prices are shooting right through the roof.

Do you know any fish thriving, not just surviving, at a minimum temperature of 68°F ?

I got just my 100g , 5ft tank left and like fish that can reach a length of at least 8 inches, are somewhat active, so no catfish or ambush predators.
And, yes, I like them to be colorful and not overly aggressive.
All I found by myself meeting the criteria, are goldfish and golden dojo loaches.

Hi, no need to say "sorry", that's a Thorichthys maculipinnis, closely related to firemouth cichlids.
They are nice, leaving plants alone mostly and are pretty peaceful for CA cichlids.
Although it is said that they can be kept in a group of 6-8 in a 5ft tank, that did not work for me long term.
A species I would never buy online, because there are big differences in coloration.
Best looking variation's males have very red bellies and throats, when they are still small, about 2.5 inches, imo.

Never saw one bigger than 6 inch long, but have read about very old males hitting 7 or 7,5 inches.
Females stay smaller, 4- 5 inches.

Hi,you can obtain lepomis gibosus or gobio gobio.

I don' t like pumpkinseed sunfish, but bigears.
There is only one possibility to buy them online in springtime, it is expensive too .
And there is a suggestion this fish needs a real winter cooldown.
Otherwise the lifespan would be shortened tremendously.
I know they are wide spread in the US, but do " average" bigear sunfish need it really cold in the winter?
Are their colors fading when it is warmer?
And aren't they as aggressive as cichlids when spawning? I really like the appearance, but it is very uncommon in here, never saw one live.

Here is my gobio gobio.It is quite colourfull fish from our native fishes.It can reach 20 cm long.I have him 4 years without real winter cooldown.

I do appreciate you want to help me on my eternal, quite hard journey of stocking my empty tank, but I think I have a different expectation of "colorful".
I have to admit that it is not easy to find a fish, that thrives in the temperature range from 68- 78 degrees, reaches 8 inches of length and is pretty non aggressive, without the need of a serious temperature drop during winter.
Goldfish, dojo loach, maybe sunfish.
I am in doubt, thinking of the last one.
I did some research before starting this thread and there were very little results.
But if even the very experienced people of the MFK-forum don' t know about it, I think nature (I am agnostic, no offense!) just did not see any reason for the existence of such creatures I am looking for.
In fact, goldfish and gold loaches are menmade too.
