So your excited about going into yet another country that doesn't want us, to try and be the world police yet again, with someone who has the capability of ending the world. I guess when we're stretched as thin as we are, we can't be too choosy. Unlike Musha who left to pray for you, I'm praying for the world. Hope it can survive those kind of attitudes.

You can't have a debate with a teenagers unfounded infinite wisdom; they will always be right. But you have to give the guy credit for aspiring to proudly wash out of the service.

This conflict is going to be a non-event in the annals of history. It will be akin to a bully picking on a nerdy kid and then a star jock coming along and giving the bully a well deserved ass wooping.

No matter how bad the American media skews it, Russia is the good guy and Georgia is the bully. Russia is laying on the ass wooping right now to send a message to Georgia. That is the only way the Georgian President is going to "get it". This will be over before the end of the Olympics.

Wow, what an epic thread derailment from a possibly interesting topic. I'm with Chompers on this one, the Russians know when to finish a war. Short and sweet. ;)

Edit: Can't believe George Bush even made a comment regarding the issue. Let them deal with their own problems.

What amazes me is that he said Russia is using "disproportionate" force.... So is Georgia's carpet shelling of an entire city with Tube artillery and un-guided Multiple rocket systems proportionate? 90% of the casualties in this conflict have been South Ossetian civilians at the hands of Georgian indiscriminate shelling...

Where is GW's statement about this action directed against civilians by Georgia?

As far as "team America " is concerned, you guys forgive me, but there is no chance on earth that the US or Nato is going to get involved.

Secondly, do not think, even for a minute, that in conventional terms you guys would have a chance against the russians, in their "own ground" (or, for discussion's sake, anywhere else I would say ).

Richard, let us not forget the "real politik " framework. Russia is protecting South Ossetia due to its interests and accusing Georgia of "genocide". The same would not apply to Chechnia, wouldn't you say?
