What's your WC routine? I wanna know if i'm doing it right.
1: Use a pitcher to remove water, 1 pitcherful at a time, dumping water into my bathtub and first netting out any fish that got sucked into the pitcher and putting them back.
2: once 50% is gone, i fill up 1 pitcherful at a time. Once it's back to the usual level, I add aqua plus.
3: Use the net to direct all the crap and particles that get kicked up into the filter.
4: Panic because one of my Mosquitofish is gone, thinking it jumped, pass out, then find her under the castle. :screwy:
Is this ok? How do you do it/

Rig up my 100ft python and run it outside. Siphon about 40% out then hook her up to the sink and fill her back up, While it's filling back up I'm adding prime in the stream of new water. Works for me, no chlorine and levels are good. One pitcher at a time mate? wow thats got to take ages. I have around 1000 gallons to changed and I thought that was a hassle.

thats pretty much what I did when I first started out, except I used a tupperware container :D Definately get a siphon, doesn't have to be a python they're kinda $$$ iirc. Even a cheap siphon makes changes a lot easier and cleans the substrate much much better. I also keep gallons of treated water on hand, but thats up to you.

i change about 35% once a week in all my tanks and i couldnt do it without my 2 siphon tubes works great on the rock and i got 5 gallon buckets so i dont have to use tap water

I use a python for the bulk of water changes, but I also keep buckets for when i rinse out media and clean out filters with Old tank water.

Put the canister hose out the window, drain 75-80%. Hook garden hose up to shower, set temp and refill once a week. Speaking of this, time to do a water change. 144gals out the window wooo!

Wow, you must really be patient!!! I use a gravel siphon and a 5 gallon aquarium only bucket. Eventually I will get an extension and just empty the tank into the flower garden just outside my window... Unfortunately, I don't have a hose connection close by to fill the tank so I have to fill bucket by bucket.

i only have two 5 gallons.:D parents cut me off on getting new tanks:irked:
but yeah 50% is gone in like 4 scoops.
