So i just got done doing another water change on my 120 gallon with buckets and i am done with doing that. I am looking into buying a python no spill clean and fill how do you guys like these? Also how do you guys do water changes on your big tanks? Im not gonna get a constant drip system or anything like that.

SO interested to see the responses on this as I am tired with my 30 foot or so walk with 5 gal buckets....

Exactly.

Pythons are awesome if you use straight well water into your tank and you have a freshwater system. For systems where you change the water in some way they dont work so well. Remember that you are going to need to hook them up to a faucet, so keep that in mind when purchasing the unit in case you need to buy extension hose or an adapter. Other than that you should be very pleased.

Pythons are epic. I waited a long time before getting one and wish I didn't.

I use regular tap water and it has caused no problems if I put the conditioner in the aquarium first. I do dose higher though with prime.

I should also note the only time I lost a fish during a water change was when using buckets... forgot to add prime and killed 3 fish in less than 20 mins (really bad water). I've changed water numerous times with the above method and never lost a fish after a water change. JME

Aside from wasting a HUGE amount of water, they are great. As far as changing water in large tanks, ssssllllowwww.

I'm a big fan of big pool hose streached out to the grass. A faucet adapter and garden hose to the sink. Put water conditioner in after you drain and before you fill. My 210 takes me 20min.75%.

I use the Marina Aqua Vac. It works very good and my fittings are built very strong. I felt the Python was not built as strong as the Marina Aqua Vac. Both are very good and that is something you will have to look at. But, they are both better than buckets. I don't miss those days. Good luck.

I just put in straight tap water and move the hose every time a 1/3 of the water is back in. I also dose a little high with the prime putting it directly over the hose after a few minutes or so. Maybe dosing 2 times in each spot the hose is in. Also chlorine will not kill the fish although I doubt it's good for them but it will kill the BB. I also run a power head and turn that on as soon as I can to start circulating the water.

Ahh, thats all I was worried about, I once annihilated my sump with tap water... killed all of the bb.

I really hate carrying 30 gallons of buckets that drip all over the floor, a system like this would be awesome.

you know how some carpet cleaners attach to the sink, but also suck up the soap through a small hose and mix with the water? I wonder if its possible to make a similar setup, but with water conditioner!
