funny this tread came up like 2 weeks ago i almost froze my indo to death. i was topping off my tank inside the house when my mom calls me i answer YEA!!! and she goes "NO!!! COME HERE!!!" i walk over there trying to get done with what shes tellin me as i walk away she pulls that "WAIT! im not finsished yet" whle she waisting my time the tank over flows and the warm water in the tank starts flowing out and the temp starts to drop. when i get back the indo was 100% stable and drifiting side to side. i quickly stuck my hand in grabbed a bucket of water and air hose from another tank and saved it within bout 30min. the poorl lil guy was in shock at the end of the story my momma felt kinda bad cuz she new she was messing with me makeing me walk over to tell me nothing at all and laughing

but now i sit the water inside for a few hours befor changeing it

25- 30% twice a week.

drain water, then add de-chlorinator to water left in tank, then fill straight from tap.

used to do 50% when I had rays. i too noticed my tigers less stressed with smaller water changes. not necessarily more stable, but less skittish.

If the sump tanks are massive, u could do near 100% wc /week, or x 2 @ 50%

The trick to doing water changes during the cold is to slowly add in the water, if you guys do it from the hose. During this time, a water change will take me 2-3 hours depending on how much I change. I usually do about 50% a week.

Do u have to do WCs weekly or could i do it once every two weeks as the guy in petco advised. I got an aquaclear 500 and a fluval 405 on my 180g.

did my first w/c since gettn my 20 IT on tues. Did a 30% wc on their 55g today. Gonna do another one on monday. They are stoked...always have fat bellies.
