Waterproof Membrane on inside of stand

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Okay good stuff guys. My favorite is "the fish tank was there first argument" of course to add insult to injury my wife's an attorney and I have yet to win an argument in the 5 years we have been together :irked:

Maybe just cut the carpet up to the edge of the stand so she wont know and just put off that fight till we move...............

Wait a minute, these are all single guy answers! Any married guys or women with an opinion on this subject

I dunno I'm still fighting to be allowed another tank in the house. I would have to say put something on the legs so as not to ruin the new trap she laid out for you... lol ... Try not to wet it and tada :headbang2you be ok lol

you basically have two options right now (since it seems the rug is staying):

1. cut the carpet, hope she doesn't notice (not likely) and roll it out of the way when you do maintainence (which she will catch you doing this one of these times)

or

2. lay the carpet down, tank over top, carpet gets crushed (ruined) and later on the molds and smells will come around. and she makes you drain down your tank to pull up the rug and the whole time she is complaining about how you ruined her carpet lol

I agree. its a trap. you can't win. either way you are going to get screwed..lol

option 3 of course is to put your foot down and find another place for the rug, explaining why it can't go in the fishroom.

but you might not live to see tomorrow soo.. :)

I vote #3. its a quick painless death. the other options only prolong the invetable;)

get a dog...then sell the carpet but say you tossed it out because it was coated in crap now your wife is not angry at you but is at the dog...then take the dogs side and say hes not house broken so she'll feel bad let you keep the dog and there its a win win you get a dog and get rid of the carpet lol

Oh no not the poor doggy. Oh wait for her to have drink in her hand and call her. When she is near you bump into her and she willl spill some of what she is drinking. Then she would be the first to get it wet.:mwave:

Egon...Care to discuss you Tank backgrounds to take your mind of the Rug issue?

LOL great married guy responses there :) 12 volt man is for sure married! Sounds like you have been married a while too LOL.
Thanks for everyone's input. I think I have a fix, I really believe the rug will be fine. AZ has a very dry climate so I don't see a mold issue........................well that's all crap but what do ya do?
This is just an example of a rock and a hard place. I just have to deal with it.

For the background question click on my links below there's a little info there and I will update those threads soon :)
