I don't know what exactly happened but I woke up this morning and all of the eggs were gone. I woke up in the middle of the night to get a drink and looked in the tank while I was up. The male was being overly aggressive with the female to the point that she was very dark and hiding behind a piece of driftwood. He was guarding the eggs at that time because I saw them before I went back to bed. But this morning they are all gone. They aren't guarding any of the pits that they dug either. So there can't be any wrigglers. At this point I'm not really worried about the eggs though. The female is my prime worry at this time. The male keeps going through strange moods now. One minute he's mouthing, tail slapping, and pushing her away until she is forced to hide. The next minute he's calmly swimming with her. Her pectoral fins are a little torn but no other damage to her than that. Could it be that she ate the eggs and that the male is trying to breed with her again? This is not a freak out post. I realize that they have less than a week's time in my care. I just want to know if the female is in danger. One more thing, I still haven't seen either one eat yet. They suck in the pellets sometimes but then they just spit them back out. Any help is appreciated. I don't want to bug Dan about this unless I absolutely have to.
