WC jaguar cichlids

Its not even the fact that theyre non occuring its just that theyre not f0 imp. There was thread about this not to long ago. But as long as the seller doesnt just call them wild caught and makes sure to add the south florida local part i dont see the harm. But i and im sure a few other hobbyist would not call them wild caught. They are ferals. In my opinion the offspring of the very first pair imported from central american were f1 regardless if they are in a canal. But all these years later those fish have been reproducing over and over and over and are probably by f600 by now. My .2

i definitely see your point but, remember these fish didn't start from a single pair but, hundreds if not thousands of wild individuals.. i guess we just disagree on the definition of wild is..

Another "expert" who has his own version of the truth. Facts be damned.

Fish that are commercially bred in outdoor ponds in Florida are not sold as wild caught.

WC is not the same as feral. Period.

I disagree but who the hell cares. A fish does not know or care if it is in the location it's species originated from. Feral and wild are just labels we humans use. Mother nature don't care and she does what she wants whenever she wants. Yes they were introduced into a location they don't normally inhabit but doesn't seem like it's bothering them lol. Not trying to start a debate but I'm sure it will anyway. Screw the jag's how bout some of them bright orange feral wild caught f2200 midas'!

Doesnt matter how many wild pairs ( and we dont even if they were originally wild pairs) were introduced. In the fish trade wild means f0 from its natural habitat. If you import 100 pairs of wild fish their offspring would be f1 from wild parents. Each pairs offspring would be f1. Those f1 have babies and those are then f2 then f1 might mate with f2 and f3 and all this mess up that you cannot trace the blood line to any one group of fish imported at the point they are now in florida canals. Will they act and have the same behavior differences as a wild vs captive bred fish? yes,but that fish you take from the canal has no more or less purity as one from your lfs. Would people still want them more than a lfs perhaps and you will hVe luck selling a few. But facts are facts and rules are rules in the distribution of fish in this hobby. Ferals are ferals. Not f0 wild caught.
