WC jaguar cichlids

Looks to me this thread need some cleaning.

The OP stated, from the onset, that they are Florida caught. And, with that caveat, he gauged for interest.

I, for one, would love to have some, caught in the Florida wilds, Amphis and Mayans .

It was an opportunity to inform even if it wasnt the intention of the thread.

Btw this thread doesnt need cleaning up it needs closing as you cant make gauging interests thread outside the marketplace from what i understand.

well technically they are WC cause the parents were wild caught over 50years ago and released into south florida. and they are in the wild fending for themselves.
that's why I put WC FROM SOUTH FLORIDA cause they are not in tanks or being feed.
maybe it's a dumb question but, if a WC fish reproduces in the WILD how are they not WC?
He does have a point

I actually fee somewhat similar. I know a wild caught Honduran Jag is a true wild native fish. But as time goes on. Fish populations spread, mostly by man, but in the thousand year range species travel from all kinds of events, and shifts of nature. If it's parents persay were WC caught Honduran Or Lake Nic or something and then let go in Florida, and reproduced, they are essentially doing what the would be doing in Honduras but just in South Florida lol.

I thoroughly agree with and understand the essences of purity in a fish, but, in evolutionary terms, they are WC south FL jags.

Unfortunately, fish that are bred in outdoor ponds in Florida ARE sold as wild caught.

Matt

I would think most have caught on. There are a lot and always fresh supply from certain vendors with WC fish.....any size you need. My thought is I just wish people would identify the location. I don't think of WC as fish raised outside, just my opinion.

Definition of feral is once domesticated animal living in the wild so unless the ones that started the population where cb the fish in question would be an invasive species not realy feral even if they where and u catch them they are then wild caught even if that don't fit the generally accepted false meaning of wc in the hobby and fish raised in an outdoor breeding pond that u put there n care for are in no way wild just raised outdoors
