I don't see Rams on his stock list on his site.

They're not on there anymore. He must have sold them all. He had them in late October and November.

Ahhhhhhhhh. Hey what type of filtration are you using with your Rams? I hear they are really sensitive to lots of water movement. Like with a HOB filter. Is this true?

I have a Fluval 205 and a little HOB rated for a twenty gallons. It's a tall tank so the flow at the bottom of the tank is light. The little HOB is used for extra bio filtration only I put some bio media in it and leave it there. To answer your question since thaey live primarly in small pools of water in the Llanos they are not normally used to fast flowing currents so I would avoid that, I angle my out flow from the Fluval in a way as to not break the surface but just flow towards the HOB, seems to work I also don't want to drive too much CO2 out of the system. I have noticed they spend most of their time away from the heaviest flow down by the eddie created by the fake root with the Anubis on it and under the floating Water Sprite, until food hits the water then swim all over the place.

I didn't know you were in to the planted tanks also.I should have shown you my planted tank...oh well...next time I guess.

I've actually been doing planted tanks for years and usually have at least one going all the time. Before I started getting into the larger more aggro cichlids I always had Discus and Angel fish. The Rams are somthing I wanted to do for a long time and decided to go for it when this tank became available and saw F0s on TUIC, the timing was right. I just don't talk about them much because I spend most of my time in here and don't get involved with all the high tech gagets people use so don't have much to say. I used to have a really nice planted tank in the Takashi Amano style, I'll do another one someday I'm sure. I will say you can't beat the water quality in a well cared for and balanced planted tank. The balance is the trick, I use DIY CO2 with a home made bubble counter and a simple valve, I don't go crazy with ferts and just judge by growth rates. I use a combination of 67 and 10K PC at about 3 watts per gallon.

awesome man! I am pretty new to the plant seen.I have always tried but with the monsters I keep they always ate the plants or uprooted them. Now I am opening myself up to other avenues with the planted tank seen and lovin it.I tried the diy c02 but kept having it clog up on me and tossed the idea for a while but I am gonna try again using a different diy system set up I seen here:http://www.plantedtank.net/articles/DIY-CO2-Diffuser/8/
I got everything needed just gotta set it up and give it another try. What ferts do you use?

The only ferts I use are Either Seachem Excel or Brightwell Aquatics Bioavailable Carbon and Seachem Flourish in conjunction with the CO2.

I'll stop by and check out your tanks I'd like to see them and I'll show you the bubble counter and valve it's so simple you'll laugh when you see it but I promise it works.
