The sad thing is, I already know the boat is illegally stored and the shed in her back yard is not permitted but as a neighbor we learn to live with it. Wish me luck...tonight is WC night. I'm going to have to continue the practice till I figure this out.
 
Don't respond in writing. A face to face is always better if you keep your cool. Also, writing can be misinterpreted. If that happens, and they take it to an attorney - it will get interpreted then. And you won't like it. Plate of cookies and a chat is the way to go. It wouldn't hurt to be staring at their shed and boat while you are talking. Good luck.

I love this idea plus that of ecoli... You can always use an extra pump to push the water into either lawns in front your house. That is after researching city permits/codes regarding the boat & their backyard (don't forget to print it & make copies for you and your neighbor) and then talking to them with either beer or cookies.

well could ask them if they would like you to water their lawn or gardens with the water, which is good for flowers and lawns, I uses my old tank water to water the plants and my garden, makes it grow better, as it's high in nitrates which plants use. you never know they might like the idea.
 
I would say something like this:

"Fishkeeping is my hobby. This is water. It's not going to harm anything. If anything it's going to fertilize some plants. I see you have a nice boat and shed over there. Is boating your hobby...? :D"
 
I'd say pothos to cut down on wc but that would be stating the obvious, how about placing your run off water in the sink, sump pump or in your neighbours window?

The bad thing is once a neighbour hates you that usually lasts till someone moves....
