NTT seam to be the hardest to get eatting dead foods

they can go 6 weeks easy without foo0d

so just offer the food you want then to eat daily

Hikari sinking carnivore or massivore seam to be the best pellets and the tigers grow faster than other food

so many people panic

Mine all started eatign pellets from imitation. My bichirs go nuts for massivore pellets and sinking shrimp pellets soon my dats saw they were food now the munch them down before the bichirs can get them!

its normally a case of monkey see monkey do

if the tigers see other fish eating something they will eat it as well

the trick is don't panic even after 1 month of not eating don't panic

i wouldn't worry unless they have not eaten for 2 months

most people give in after 3-4 weeks just before the tiger is ready to start eating

the longest i have had a tiger not eat for was 8 weeks it now eats pellets

I understand your worried if tiger dont eat for 3 to 4 weeks,as someone posted, he starved his and it died!!
I have a NGT and IT, that just started eating chopped prwn, after 8 months. BUT, i did not starve him as such...
They only ate blood worm, so I ONLY fed bloodworm once every 3 weeks.
All the other time, I fed staple, prwns, lance fish and krill. Once per month beefheart. I guess they got sick of being hungry all the time!!!

Then last week, I noticed him eat prawn, now he eats it like crazy.

I would still recommend the starve, for say 4 weeks, as this mothod may get them to eat quicker, than my way above. Also, it is Very, very , very unlikely, your tiger will die, even after 4 weeks no food.

So then I should add some other fish into the tank? As previously stated, the only fish in the tank with the NTT are four 1-1.5" convicts. Should I just make sure the food is small enough for the convicts to eat?

If you have fish that are eating what you want the Dats to eat then it is a good idea to add them to the tank. This is assuming they aren't aggressive fish.

The other fish will teach the Dats what to eat.

I just got an NTT last weekend and added it into my tank that has a small male con and a small flowerhorn.

The NTT was bold at the LFS, but was hiding and unstable in my tank the first two days.

Now though, he's all over the tank and eating fresh shrimp after seeing the other cichlids eat it. Hopefully pellets soon.
