weirdest fish incident

Once I was sound asleep on my couch in a tank top and work suddenly to creepy little claws on my chest...
Turned out one of my crabs had escaped from my salt water tank, climbed up the couch and across me!
It scared me half to death! :nilly:

Back in highschool, in prehistoric times, I had a running incident of feeders disappearing from my holding vat. I was sure my brother was feeding out my preds to show off to his friends. I accused him, he denied it, blah, blah, blah...
After a few weeks of these continuing disappearances, I happened to come home early from school (nearly graduation) and noticed what looked like a leak from one of the saltwater tanks. Closer examination revealed a wet trail going from the tank to the feeder vat.
It turned out that my mediterranean octopus figured out that it could crawl out of its tank, gorge itself on feeders, and make it back to its tank without any adverse effects. I guess the trail was dried out enough to not be noticed by the time I usually arrived home.
I clamped the octos cover down so it couldn't forage for itself. At least I had an answer to why it was off its feed lately.
BTW, I still have yet to apologize to my brother for accusing him of feeder theft.

Today, I found 2 convict fry in the HOB overflow on my 65 gallon tank. I have not kept any convict fry in that tank for almost 2 months, so they've been in there for at least that long. They are...or were 1/2" long, they became a snack for my silver aro today.

my clarias catfish jusmped out of his tank while i was at college and had crawled under my bed, i came back from coll, (had done a 8 hour day, staying to do work), got back home looked in his tank he vannished i was like OH %*^$! lol, i looked under the bed and there he was sure enough all covered in fluff and god knows what else, so i took a small tub of tank water, netted him and washed all the junk off him, popped him back in and he was fine ^_________________________________________^

Early on in fishkeeping I had a ten gallon tank with a bunch of fish.Eventually they all died, and the tank just sat there turning green for about six months or so.When I finally decided to clean it out there was a weather loach still living in the gravel.

I have a similar one.

I had a 10 gal that had a female con and fry in it. I moved them to a 20g and left the 10 with about 2gals of water in it for several weeks, one day my MIL says she needed me to temporarily take her one cory, tetra and mollie. I just topped the tank off, added some decor and popped her fish in there with a filter. About 2 weeks after her fish were in there I noticed a con fry. I don't know how he went without feeding or filtration in 2 gals of water for a month and somehow avoided being seen for over a month...he is bigger than my fry that stayed with the mom con though.

I HAD A BIG CRAWFISH IN SON'S 20 GAL.
I WOKE UP ONE MORNING (UPSTAIRS) WENT DOWNSTAIRS.......
TO FIND A MINI-LOBSTER STARING AT ME.......
HE WAS AT BOTTOM OF STAIRS.....LOOKING UP CLAWS READY :WHOA:
AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AT CATCHING IT........
I FINALLY GOT HIM BACK IN TANK......
SCARED THE %$#@ OUT OF ME.......ALMOST STEPPED ON IT

My weirdest, which isn't too weird, was when my new longnose hawkfish jumped. Doesn't seem that weird, does it? I was acclimating fish when I stepped on something. I looked, didn't notice, looked againa and thought: "Holy $#!& I stepped on my hawkfish!" It was very dead by then.

had a "green" eel, or what i think is a spiny eel go missing for a good 4 months! Thought the Jag ate it!

i put my gar in tank upstair my house ....:screwy: :screwy: :screwy: he/she jump on tank ..landed on the floor !! ...jumping like he/she is caught by an angler!!!...and rolling like sausage in stair...good thing he/she is fine....!!!
