Weirdest pet you've ever had?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i've had a lunar moth, praying mantis, gardner snakes, iguana, anoles, and now a ferret.

i'd like to get back into snakes or some kind of reptiles eventually but i think they freak out my fiance lol

chameleons, I especially miss keeping panther chameleons.

Well its not my pet, but my LFS has a remora. That would be pretty cool to have.
I kept lots of tarantulas growing up but I no longer like spiders since I almost lost my leg to a brown recluse bite.

I am the only person I know that has sand dollars in captivity. My first group lived just over three years with me, the group I have now are going to be 2 years in captivity next month.

It takes some serious creativity and water chemistry knowledge to feed and house a sand dollar. Booring as hell, but I still can't find ANYONE else that has tried it.

I am not sure of their lifespan. The first 3 I had died when I moved, I couldn't keep the water conditions right for them through the move (it was a 4 hour drive). I hope I can keep these next ones for 10+ years.

Growing up on a farm a had tons but some of the more memorable ones were 2 vervet monkeys, 2 Duiker, impala, warthog, banded mongoose, owl, hedgehogs, springhares and goat.

I had a hedgehog in Iraq. If we were stateside he wouldve been boring lol
neat little creatures though.

I had an african spiney mouse, they'll eat their tail if there isn't enough protein in their diet. Mine barely chewed off the tip of his, but I've seen them chewed all the way up.

Ok, that is WEIRD!
