Well, I've gone and done it... be kind, please!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, here are some photos. The one shot isn't of the whole tank, only half, but I think you can get an idea of just how clean the corys and loaches keep my sand. They're awesome!

Oh, by the way, yes, there are six Discus. :grinno: Everyone just got home earlier today, and are already adjusting quite well.

By the way, Hans, if you see this, these are your Discus. I didn't realize it until we went back to buy the four we bought today. The retailer is Animal Jungle in VA Beach, VA. :)

Also, I think the last photo shows one benefit of keeping any fish in a well-established, planted tank. All six of these fish have been wandering in the leaves, eating algae since they came home. So, that's four meals a day plus the algae they're grazing on. That has to be helpful.

Anyway, on with the photos...

Haha it's good to know... but I have to stop myself for now... I want to see if I can keep these. Folks have scared me, but I'm determined!!!

By the way, my husband has fallen in love with your Discus. He keeps saying, "Look at those colors!" I have a feeling we may have another Discus fan on our hands!

Oh, and Hans, you need to speak to Animal Jungle... they're keeping the fish in tanks with white sides and backgrounds... it completely bleaches the fish out! It's really a wait-and-see as far as the color goes... luckily, they all seem to be beautiful once they're against some nice Amazon Sword leaves LOL, but they really should try something different as far as the display goes!

Don't be scared, Discus are easier as most people say, hayyyyy even I can keep them alive lol lol lol

Great the more Discus idiots the better lol lol lol lol

My dear, it's not up to me how the store presents their Discus. If I would set rules on how to keep/sell our Discus, I wouldn't have any customers left lol lol lol

Hans

Haha I guess it doesn't matter; they seem to be selling. At least people get a nice surprise when they get them home... "Hey, I didn't know the fish looked THAT good!" And then they feel all special because they "Picked a good one!"

There you go, never disappointment lol lol

Hans

I don't care where it come from, I would take this fish back. Look at the HUGE eyes on this fish. Not what you want in a discus. Maybe you can trade it for one from the new shipment?

LOL, I have no idea. I think it's a nice-looking fish.

Are you saying it's stunted already, or what?

I really have no idea. All of the fishes' eyes look to be the same size, to me.

It could be just the combination of the fish's size and the picture, but the size of the eye looks huge for the size of the body, which would make it an undesirable fish.

Well, I'll go ahead and say this... I estimate the size of these fish to be at one and a half inches. The smaller ones in the pics, that is. Well, the LFS sells these as two-inch fish, and the larger fish in the photos, which I estimate at two inches, the LFS sells as thee-inch. So, that may account for some confusion... I may not know how to determine the size of a Discus. It's totally possible. Or the LFS could be full of crap.... LOL.
