So you can't put an Oscar in a 55G for life?

Z

You can, but they'll be cramped. My 15" beast oscar would not appreciate a 12" wide tank.

great O lady G!!! Awesome to see one for sale without HITH

HITH, is something I do worry about. I have read that many O's get this, if I understand correctly though..with WC and a good diet, they can avoid that. I do regular WCs, and right now he is eating the frozen Krill, Beefheart and silversides. Trying to get him to eat pellets...he's not liking the idea though, I had the sinking kind, Ewurm suggested getting the floating ones...which I did, but right now he is still refusing them also.

Is there anything else I should be doing??

Forget the krill and beefheart, keep offering pellets until it gives in. It will eat them. I have never seen an Oscar starve to death.

Actually, I think they can...but I could be wrong. He just looks a little cramped IMO, and I planned on getting a bigger tank anyway;)

The Oscar will need a tank 18" deep, that's a 75.

Ok, man that's going to be hard...I kinda like hand feeding him the silversides...not to sure about trying it with a pellet though:eek:

great lookn fish, the color is outstanding.
Thank you!!!!

omega1 pellets will help him keep the HITH away. Starve him for a day or 2 and he'll give in:)
after he's eating pellets, you can still sneak a silverside and some krill in with it lol

Ok, thanks guy's!!! I'm going to feel really bad not feeding him you know, but I guess I'd feel worse loosing him!!
