Went To Alligator Alley

I dont mean there growth rate to adult size or to sexual maturity I more or less meant in the juvenile stage (yeah I know its a little over an inch a month) but it's not so slow that juvenile/large pbass are going to eat all of them. I guess I am trying to say that you are going to have varying sizes of both fish and they are both going to be able to eat one another, but I just don't see the pbass being that harmful to the tarpon population, just as I dont see how bowfin are killing bass populations by eating bass eggs. Its just my own opinoin. Like I said I didn't read the entire thread... so I dont know what all the post you or anyone else made are.. just a few. To many pages to read.

I do agree it is best to let nature do its thing.

There's no way PB could even touch the tarpon populations because they (tarpon) salt water to spawn. I'm just sayin' it bad enough that there were Mayan cichlids all around in the waters(again brackish) near where i live before the freeze, luckily they got pretty much wiped out. I'm sure they'll be back, unfortunately. I just don't wanna see those crap/trash fish take the place of native species like sheepshead and mangrove snapper. If I want to see tropical fish i'll go to my LFS. I'm I clear now?

There was actually no need to clarify. It was very clear from your earlier posts, exactly what you are and are not;)

More "weak animals" die, guess it is just meant to be, right Multispecies Tamer?

It is weird that an mammal like this is dieing from a cold snap. But there would have been more of them if it wasnt for people doing all kinds of damage to their population. Compare the number of them killed by humans to the number killed by the cold and you'll see that we are the cause of their demise.

Plus I never said anything about "weak animals" I only Said "weak natives" reffering to the native fish not other animals such as mammals.

Yes I am shocked would think they could handle 2 weeks of cold . It was average 40s at night in Miami but hit average 60s or more during day except last 2 days of it and that was all it took.

It seemed that the last 2 consecutive days of high 30s during night and 50s during day where the nail on the coffin.

I lost all the green anoles in my yard ("frozen" to bush, tree's)but not all the browns strange as that may be.I wish I could find out the green anole and Green tree frog deaths all over.

Pretty shocking stuff following this thread very bad news about the manatees.
Locally here in Brisbane we have a relative called a Dugong which has a good population in the bay,the biggest cause of death is boat strikes so there are many speed restrictions in their habitat. This cold snap you guys had makes you wonder about the Global warming thing.

Ugh more cold, I can't believe I'm saying this but it needs to get warm and stay warm. I enjoy the cold for playing sports and my beach time and fishing quality is getting cut lol. I have been seeing more bream and warmouth in my canal lately. don't know if its from the lack of predators or if theyre just coming out to eat, catch up from the missed meals during the cold.
