And came home with a eclipse catfish which is about 4" and a senegul bichir. I put them in my 150g and they were doing great with my stock which is my oscar and balas, till feeding time tonight... I just finished feeding them when I heard Britt gasp and I looked at her and saw her eyes bigger than pool balls looking at my tank... I bent down to look to see my senegul hanging out of my oscars mouth.. I hurried up and grabbed my net and tapped my O to drop him and he did... I dont know if hes going to make it till tomorrow night when I get off work to take him back... I also think hes bleeding on the top of his nose :'( I dont know what I should do.. should I try catching him and putting him in my 3 gallon or put him in my 55g with my other fish?

put him in the 3 gallon and see how he does, but lesson learned i hope - if it fits in it's mouth an oscar is gonna try to eat it.

I just went to get him about 20 mins ago.. I turned my lights on to see him in his mouth again... and this time he didnt come out swimming... :(. I feel so bad.. I thought he'd be fine with all the crevices and spots he could have went into to hide, he was fine all day my oscar didnt even do anything to him when I put him in there... He went over and "bit" my catfish though as soon as I put him in... I dont even no if petsmart will take him back.. Im going to take him to work with me in the morning and ask my mom if she'll let me run him over there to get my money back when they open..

i am going to guess that they are not going to take it back since it was kind of a bad call on your part, but sorry for your loss man, they are really cool fish

Sorry to hear about your bichir. How big was the oscar?

I had a similar experience with my old Florida gar: It was around 10" and the Senegal bichir was around 4" yet the gar still ate it. I didn't find out that was where the bichir went until I saw the gar trying to eat the other Senegal (luckily that one survived).

Yea if it fits in the oscars mouth it will probably get eaten, i learned the hard way.....

looks like a CL to me - its probably a good thing the bichir went this early, as when that eclipse catfish gets full size it would probably eat even an adult senegal
