Went to Petsmart today

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sadly, most PetSmarts have a 14 day or so return policy, for those fish who 'didnt make it'. This is unfortnate, because it allows people to buy several fish, take them home, and end up having them killed in a couple days, going back to PetSmart, and getting thier money back, just to do it over again.

Atleast thats the way the PetSmart here is. If it dies in the first 14 days you get your money back, which sucks for the fish, because of what i said above. A lot of peoples mindsets here are "Oh, my fish died. Ill go get another one. Oh, my fish died again, no worries, ill go get aother one. Oh, my fish died again, etc etc."

Bichirs + Oscars = No No. Smaller, less agressive cichlids, Maybe, but def not Oscars, Jags, etc.

I think that this is the single most important thing that they do to stay in business! Why would someone want to take the chance of shopping for live fish at petsmart, where the employees may or may not have the experience or resources for upkeep that other LFS have, if n ot for thew 14 day guarantee.

I QUADRUPLE do not understand your "over, and over again" reference! WTF? Are you batty? WTF is wrong with you? If a petsmart is NOT taking proper care of it's live goods and gives the customer ten straight disease infected fish that all died within a week, why should we NOT fully expect a healthy one?

As for the petsmart return policy: There is no return/ replacement on fish killed via fighting. The OP will not receive the undeserved replacement if he/ she is honest (they will not even try!). If they really want the replacement and are AMORAL that they can just lie, and I do believe that it is also petsmart policy never to question the validity of a customers claim.

In short, if you lie, you will be rewarded up front but karma is a *****!

yeah im not gonna lie you probably only paid $3.50 for the bichir, be a man and take the hit for your mistake

yea i had two arros that lived in the tank with my oscar for weeks and one day i check and one or my arros are missing and i thought he was way too big for the oscar to eat i was sooo sad that was the most expensive meal my oscar ever had! lol

that poor senegal.

Not to shoot you down, but it is really an accident waiting to happen.
A small senegal like that is practically defenseless, even against an oscar of a similar size.

why is it that the most expensive fish you buy are always the ones that get chewed up in the tank!? it's like the others know or something lol. "hey everbody this guys thinks he's better than us! lets get him!":swear:

lol I took him back and told the fish lady that Im pretty close to since Im in there every week, and I got my money back, I told her if later on they get any bigger ones I might try another one.. I just always thought bichirs and oscars got along really good, because I always see people saying thats what they have with their oscars.. Idk I just think he decided to be a d**k and was like oh you think hes cute huh lets see how you think after I get done with him... :(
