Not really, what the dog does is simply what the dog is capable of. The dog is not feeling ,"omg I'm smart I know this," it us humans who interpret it as such. It doesn't give a **** about human machinery or doors. It is pathetic that a human makes a dog do a human's job and label the dog as 'smart' just because it serves a human. The dog is only relying on one thing and that is SURVIVAL and its intelligence lies in that. Like doing a trick to get a treat.

Although it may be wow to a human's mind, to a dog it doesn't mean anything. You may call it 'dumb' because it doesn't care about you or 'smart' because it listens to you, it really doesn't matter to a dog. On the other hand, bonds are different. Whether a dog does a trick or not, if the dog loves you, it will put its life on the line. Something not all humans do for their dog. While mindless sheep go ,"omg I am so in Love with that dog," well I feel sad for the dog. That dog was nothing but a slave. If you were in that dog's situation, I bet you'd have a different point of view.
i would rather see a dog being trained and having attention... {looks like he is a happy dog and loves the praise} ..then my neighbors dogs out in all kinds of weather.. running wildly... never knowing the comfort of a warm cuddly blanket... that is sad to me..

It's way better than the dog chewing up shoes out of boredom. Come on the dog is obviously happy. I've trained dogs and some of them get really into in. Jack Russells are intelligent and very(very) active. This owner is simply giving him something to do instead of letting him destroy things then dumping him at the pound.

Sad to you because you are human and think from your mental program since birth. A dog is rather happy wandering, exploring and learning as it is meant to do rather than being made a toy in your blanket for your entertainment. That's when a human takes something to their value, when it entertains them. And this thread is an example of that.

You mean a rebellion that doesn't abide by your set of mental perspective? Now that is something I'd like to watch. And that dog chewing on shoes is called instinctual act for its teeth.

i am not going to go back and forth with you because you have a right to your opinion.. my opinion is based on dogs as our domesticated pets.. and we spend alot of time and money and love on them... most always to insure they have a good life they must be socially acceptible... to humans... which means training.. we all have to be trained.. to be in society and to co-exist in a proper manner..As long as training is a fun issue between master and pet it is a rewarding experience for both.. Attention is always good... and rewards are good too... that is a happy dog.. no fear or attitude in him.. just happy..if you want your dog untrained.. and happy and doing his own thing..thats cool too...

Oh give me a break. Yes it is instinctual for dogs to chew. But they should be taught to chew on appropriate items. My dogs are provided bones for them to chew on. They know those are ok to chew on, not other items. Everyone in a home needs rules, even the pets.

Surely your taught speaking is based on dogs as pets. I am done going back and worth with you as well. You have spoken like a true robot, what can I do, you can't see outside the box. Trust me when I say this, that dog in the video is miserable. It's nothing but slavery. You wouldn't have this thing you called opinion you spoke here which is nothing but a mental program if you were in that dog's position. The end.

They were fine roaming as they should be, free and wild. Then man domesticated them, and designed cute little ones to entertain minds like yours, creating toys that are alive, toys that cannot survive outside human monitor, and those that humans did not buy getting dumped here and there, passed around, God knows what else.. it's all...you know, the old story of man sticking his nose into every single thing and putting the Dollar Bill sign on every single thing, even animals, life. And made up rules... yea 'appropriate' hahahahahaha made up bull**** is what it is. Suit yourself...
