Surely your taught speaking is based on dogs as pets. I am done going back and worth with you as well. You have spoken like a true robot, what can I do, you can't see outside the box. Trust me when I say this, that dog in the video is miserable. It's nothing but slavery. You wouldn't have this thing you called opinion you spoke here which is nothing but a mental program if you were in that dog's position. The end.

"Our tools for diminishing flight distance are the knowledge we have of an animal, the food and shelter we provide, the protection we afford. When it works, the result is an emotionally stable, stress-free wild animal that not only stays put, but is healthy, lives a very long time, eats without fuss, behaves and socializes in natural ways and--the best sign--reproduces" (Martel 2001)

The dog is not miserable. And it surely isn't slavery. If the dog didn't have a reward, of course, it wouldn't preform the tasks. The only reason the dog does it is for the treat. If the dog can avoid doing the tasks (if it chooses not to do them, even for treats) it won't do them.

Animals have limits: have a mouse with an electric shock in which the mouse cannot have any way of turning off the shock, it will preform learned helplessness. However, if the mouse can have control of the shock, it will.

Really you are mocking people for assuming to know how a dog feels emotionally, by doing so yourself. Good one... In all honesty your wrong a dog is bred way different then a wolf. Dogs have been bred for different things, "smart" dogs are bred to communicate on some level with humans and be good listeners. These breeds are happiest when they are learning commands and pleasing their master. You are ignorant to assume that you understand so much about these animals. Simply because you are trying to be the one going agaisnt the grain, you failed to realize you are argueing from the standpoint that everyone owns a wolf. If a dog does not want to listen....it won't... if it was miserable... it would not be wagging its tail and running around goofing off. Thank you for playing Mr.pessimistic, better luck next time.

Sad to you because you are human and think from your mental program since birth. A dog is rather happy wandering, exploring and learning as it is meant to do rather than being made a toy in your blanket for your entertainment. That's when a human takes something to their value, when it entertains them. And this thread is an example of that.
Okay enough please... we all get where your coming from... and your point of view...:grinno: but please do not start a flame over it.. there are a few more people on MFK that would enjoy watching this little guy do his tricks.. have a good day.....

Wow simply amazing. To think all my dog can do is stare at walls 3 inches from his face for hours on end. His elevator doesn't go to the top floor if you know what I mean.

I have another dog who is pretty smart, but not as smart as that dog! Before she was deaf she would go in and take the sheets of my little brother when my mom said it was time for school.

haha,, love them all.. i had a horse that was very shall i say slow.. but didn't stop me from loving her.. when they pass through the birth canal.. sometimes they can not breathe...either due to positioning of the baby or the cord could be wrapped around the neck or the contractions from mom are coming at the wrong time.. any of these things could cause some brain damage.. and being everything is not always equally distributed.. we have to love the cute way they are unique too.. nothing seems to bother them.. :D

I know right? My "special" dog max is my hunk of love. I swear he doesn't even know how to bark, Ive never herd him do so. But I wouldn't trade either of my pups for anything. Dogs really do have personalities.

its the truth...doesn't make you love them less... maybe you love them more.. and they always make you laugh.:D

so now you KNOW the dog is happy wandering/exploring just because you need to make your argument?
