I’ve been doing a lot of woodworking lately.

We built the duplex dog house I have been outfitting the toolshed with pegboards, shelves & a work bench.

Now I am working on the top shelf for the new hutch of my office desk.

The weather has been lovely and I moved all my woodworking operations out under an awning in front of the tool shed.

Sporty hobbies are good, and basketball is pretty awesome in it's own right.

My turkeys aren’t in that last picture with the guinea keets all lined up, that’s because they all hang out at the door when they see me come in?
And how adorable is this?!
My little turkey Beep-Beep was strutting around!

My birds and my fish definitely take up most of my time?

Looks awesome! My mom used to have chickens and guineas. I had to take care of them and wow that was hard (especially when they were outside during winter) and dang those guineas are loud!

They are everywhere here, everywhere. If I go to the farms later in the year I want to turn one into schnitzels..

Since everyone here seems to have wandered over to the global doom and gloom business I decided I should go back to the hobby thread rather than read all that.

My challenge in working on projects with these thick slabs of Birch is that they are joined together at the factory from small pieces and they can vary greatly in hardness.

This means that the factory sanding is never even close to flat and one must go to extreme measures to get it nice.

One of the things that helps greatly Is to use high quality 3M premium sandpaper.

It might cost three times what you’re using now but it is five times as good. It’s because of the advanced adhesive, the quality of the paper, the anti-slip treatment of the paper, and the quality of the grit. They are all immensely superior to any other sandpaper I have used, and I’ve been using sandpaper for 50+ years.

Well if it's any comfort Ulu Ulu i'll watch you sand some wood down. That global doom and gloom stuff is depressing me...and I started the thread!!! :duh:
