They don't belong in SA/CA, that is why they have a sub-forum just for them. Suggesting a FH or BP in this thread makes as much sense as throwing in a frontosa or some african cichlid.
If you so feel different and agree with the nonsense claims of one certain individual, then please tell use what species of fish that is in your avatar. I mean the guy is trying to sell his book, what better way to sell books then to stir up controversy.
Seeing as how they are considered a Cichlosoma Sp. genus they do belong in a CA discussion, But arguements like this would happen on the regular and a hybrid section makes the site more organized.
Heiko Bleher needs to stay with discus, Thats what made him who he is today. What he meant by that statement is that a fish is either a hybrid, OR a mutant. He deems everything crossed within its species a hybrid. Almost all discus would be hybrid, Anything like S. aequifasciatus x S. haraldi or Efaciatus x Rotkeil. Also anything crossed with its brother/sister mother/father would be hybrid.
He declares everything bred for its deformities as a mutant. Like parrots bred for the balloon effect of flowerhorns bred for kok. How this differs from breeding with synthetic colors and hormones is beyond me. Which is why everything Heiko Bleher says about flowerhorn take with a grain of salt, Because afterall, Hes probably just trying to sell another copy of his book.
