What Cichlid do you think is the mose aggressive?

Out of the choices that you have provided that I have experience with, I would say dovii. However, I don't know about umbie, and beani as well as istlanum are supposed to be some mean SOB's.

It's the only cichlid I've ever owned that attacks not only other cichlids but everything. Bottom dwellers, bichirs, catfish, plecos etc.

Why Dovii guys from what you have read and seen on YouTube! Come on! Dovii is a farce I have owned atleast 3 and they are the most skittish and weak especially if they are juvies growing with other cichlids-some start off strong but at the end (atleast my) get owned either by a Trimac or Rd or by the worst of all a freakin Jack Dempsey!!!

lol we had a convict pair that were like ures male was 6" female 4" then they thought they could own the rd... he owned them in seconds.

this is kind of a stupid post, aggression is pretty relative to the individual fishes temperament, not the spp. some spp are known for there aggression and have more of a reputation, but you can get a Green Terror at the same aggression as a RD, sure it is uncommon, but it happens.

but irregardless, the one with the worst rep is the dovii of course, but i have a feeling it is because of the size and power, not aggression.

green terrors aren't consistantly aggressive like dovii, red devils or umbie's.
and yes you're right, every once in a while you will come across an
aggressive g.terror or oscar or something but i bet any money put it against
a dovii or red devil and it will be punished for standing up against either.

very true, we used to have the aggro gold saum he was about 8-9" really aggressive just loved to terrorise tank mates all day long. then we got the RD and first of all as we put the RD in the tank he was biting it a couple of times and removing a couple of scales.. then the RD had enough and well... that was the end of the Gold saum..
