What Cichlid do you think is the mose aggressive?

very true, we used to have the aggro gold saum he was about 8-9" really aggressive just loved to terrorise tank mates all day long. then we got the RD and first of all as we put the RD in the tank he was biting it a couple of times and removing a couple of scales.. then the RD had enough and well... that was the end of the Gold saum..

Things is how many of you are confusing defense with aggression? My female convict at 1.5" and male at 4" when protecting their nest had a go at a 10" pleco and a 12" crayfish when at other times would of been scared off. Again my Dovii killed the female dovii and would kill any feeder half his size or more but hides from me (I got the rare timid kind of dovii lol) So aggression needs to be defined.

this is kind of a stupid post, aggression is pretty relative to the individual fishes temperament, not the spp. some spp are known for there aggression and have more of a reputation, but you can get a Green Terror at the same aggression as a RD, sure it is uncommon, but it happens.

but irregardless, the one with the worst rep is the dovii of course, but i have a feeling it is because of the size and power, not aggression.

I, agree.Dovii has the rep because of size and power.Put a 3" Dovii in with a Convict,Midas,RD and FH of the same size and see what happens?

My 3.5" Dovii was with 5-7" CIchlids and he ruled the tank... There where Midas/RD, JD, GT, Trimac, FH.... so i go with Dovii!

I agree.

When I listed my c lent as the most aggressive fish I've owned, I wasn't talking about raw beat-down ability. It would get owned by a large jag or dovii. It's more of a bully, this fish is full of energy and 24/7 will relentlessly pick on anything and everything smaller or weaker than itself. I've had to separate it to it's own tank.

it really comes down to the individual fish but as a hole i would say that its RD/Midas theres only a hand full of peacful ones out of the millions out there but there are other fish that are much more aggressive

Not all pikes are aggressive most are pretty calm the dwarfs and some of the larger ones can be aggressive though
