yeah well i find your post kinda stupid
green terrors aren't consistantly aggressive like dovii, red devils or umbie's.
and yes you're right, every once in a while you will come across an
aggressive g.terror or oscar or something but i bet any money put it against
a dovii or red devil and it will be punished for standing up against either.

but dovii, RD, and Umbie are constantly aggressive either, i have an 8" RD in my cichlid community tank, there is proof for you that they arent always all that aggressive.

the GT was an example buddy, im willing to bet that there are tonnes of cichlids that are all equal in temperment, one RD may be more aggressive then the Dovii, and one Dovii may be more aggressive then the RD, it is ALL relative to the INDIVIDUAL fish.

and besides, the RD is a more capable fish then the GT, even if the GT was more aggressive, the RD is still much more built to kill things and would most likely win anyways.

i like how your compairing Green Terrors and Oscars, Oscars are the biggest panzies of the large cichlid world, green terrors arent near THAT panzy.

i personally think this post would make more sense if the title stated which cichlid pound for pound has the most power, as whether mister Dmaan agrees with me or not, aggression is 100% COMPLETELY variable, even within the same spp.

i think a lot of people here are confusing aggression with power, which brings me back to the RD killing the GT example, you can not go by the fact that the RD killed the GT, that very well might not have been aggression, that was probably just the fact that the RD is a more powerful fish.

whoever replyd to Dmaans thread, did you not say that the GT was the one starting the fights? would that not mean that the GT was more aggressive? the RD winning, again, doesnt mean that it was more aggressive, it means it was stronger and was able to over take the GT, it doesnt need to be as aggressive.

i have read that many believe that the jewel or convict cichlid is pound for pound the most aggressive cichlid. its only their size which limits their ranking in peoples minds.
aggression also depends on the individual fish. you cant generalise with cichlids as previous "umbee vs dovii" and other "whats the meanest cichlid" posts have proven.

pound for pound i keep reading that Neet's are more aggressive on average than convicts, so im buying a pair to test it out. of course, temperament is dependent on the individual, but in general neets are supposedly crazy, so i wanna test it out.

Convicts can be nasty little buggers. But I find African Mbunas to be higher on the aggressive scale for fish in that size range. Africans can be down right crazy.

this

or convicts, neets, and hemichromis, dovii are not that agressive my female convict punked my male dovii in my dads 200 but yea if i have to pick one cichlid it would be hemichromis elongatus ( FIVE SPOT JEWEL) second would be regular jewel.

I have never owned an Umbee, so for right now I will vote Dovii. I have a young 4" male Dovii and he is already doing drive by shootings and car jackings.lol. He will have to be a real monster to be the most aggressive Cichlid that I have ever owned, because I had a 9"male Istlantum that was a fire breathing beast.
