What Cichlids can go into a 65 Gallon?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I do like texas cichlids but they are hard to look after so i was thinking about maybe getting one large fish IE red devil and three smaller fish IE convcits do you think that would work untill i get my 125?

oh and you may have some promplems with that your fingers are fair game with a red devil and even i have to admit red devils are harder to keep then texas i say red devils are to aggresive and texas are really easy to keep you can keep them alive in the 60 in temperature but i wouldnt recomend just take my advice texas are way easier to take care of but if you dont want to get one its ok but i got a baby 2-3 incher really awsome fish thx =D

and i have to say 1 thing you wont regret it if you get a texas i love there colours really pretty with there turquois flecks

sounds like you like texas! lol im going to the aquarium tommorow i already have a 4 inch bristolenose i got from a friend. He is doing fine in the tank just chillin. I want to get a butti and another large cichlid like a red devil with a few dithers in there
they will go into the 65 then into a 125

if 125 is endgame then might I reccomend midas cichlids.

i went to the aquarium today and got a few fish to start off with
this is the list
1. Bristole nose 4''
1. Green Terror 3''
1.Severum 3''(i know i probably shouldnt have bought him but i think my gt is a female so might be alright
3.giant danios
1.firemouth
my future stock is
1. Green terror
1. Buttikoferi
1. Red devil
3. Giant Danios
3. Firemouths
any comments?

Wouldn't reccomend thwe buttikoferi due to the eating danios factor and beatingthecrapoutofthfiremouth factor, but otherwise I see no long term issues other than possibly having to do a lot of water changes.

800th Post!

so i think this is what ill go for in my future 125
2 green terrors
3 firemouths
3 giant danios
and maybe a green severum (if it survives the aggresion)
what do you think?
