Here in the States though it does not make much sense since Silver Arowanas have a tough time making it through the Florida winter and if introduced probably would not stay established. Snakeheads is the main concern from invasive species from the tropical fish industry in the states.
I dont think the possibility of the Formosus arowana being an invasive species is the reason that they are not allowed here.

I'm aware of that for the USA. I mentioned it could be a problem for certain parts of Australia.

highly doubt asian aros will breed outside their native origins naturally. Only way I can see these fish breeding outside of South east Asia, is in a man made facility where the correct climate and water conditions are adjusted and looked after like in a public aquarium or breeding facility.

From I've read, fish are very expensive there.Whats the likelyhood of someones prized ultra expensive aro ending up in some stream?

But arent the waters and habitat of the jardini similar to those of the formosus?

They could quite easily survive in our northern tropical waters which have climate conditions similar to SE Asia but as mentioned, it's the expense of these guys here. Considering even a green is about $1000au it is not likely any fish will ever get dumped into any of our waterways.

Yes, but not COMPLETELY the same. Asian aros are known for their difficulty to breed. There has only been ONE place where asian aros have been bred outside of SE Asia, it was in a public aquarium with a pair of greens after many years being together, forgot exactly which public aquarium.

Survive, definitely, but breed, probably not. Anyways, like you said, I dont see what the problem is, I doubt anyone would really dump an asian arowana into the wild as they cost that much.
