Does anyone know what countries still list Asian Arowanas as illegal? Is the USA the last one?

Through conversation here in the States I heard Australia and the USA. However from reading these posts it just sounds like their illegal only in the USA.

i believe just the US

Bogus, come on USA!!!!!!

yeah US dunno about australia

Yeah same deal here in the States. Legal if was imported before the ban, as well as pre ban Arowanas young.

Makes some sense in Australia as Asian Arowanas could be an invasive species and compete with native Australian Arowanas in tropical areas (kind of neat to have a river stocked with Chilli Reds) maybe if some escaped they could live together like the multiple species of freshwater basses here in California (Red Eye, Spotted , Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass). Has anyone kept Asian Arowanas with Australian Arowanas?

Here in the States though it does not make much sense since Silver Arowanas have a tough time making it through the Florida winter and if introduced probably would not stay established. Snakeheads is the main concern from invasive species from the tropical fish industry in the states.

i though asians were legal now in asuie from all the post i read. hopefully USA will follow soon..........not

As I said, illegal to import only but anything already here including what is bred from that stock is fine to own.
