This is what some of you are getting excited about? Really?

Corn - Soybean - Poultry Protein Product (feather meal?) - Cane Molasses - Yeast

.... and using a gimmick of premixed variety within the same container. LMAO Yeah, I'm quite certain that most MFK members have cichlids that require food that contains a min of 16% crude fat, some of that overall crude fat derived from poultry, soybeans, and corn.

WTF?

I can understand people wanting to try new/different foods that come on the market, its human nature for some people to always want to improve what they are doing, including how they feed their fish - but with this food - really?

WoW, it appears that my time on this forum has been largely wasted. Perhaps ignorance really is bliss?

I say omega one is about as good as you can get pellet wise IMO. Aside from this pellet my omnivores get flukers gut loaded insects, peas, etc as treats. My fish eaters get white fish fillets, shrimp, etc soaked in vitachem.

My jag won't touch a pellet so he gets tilipia fillets & other white fish fillets soaked in vitamins or stuffed with crushed omega one pellets. Almost a piranha type diet.

All these threads made about Hikari and NLS fish foods... When will a Sticky be made? At the end of the day both foods are great and will help your fish live a long colorful life as long as you keep your water quality up.

I feed mostly NLS thera A but also love to feed Repashy. I make a mixture of the soilent green and meat pie. My fry and Africans go nuts over it. I like it for my fry and tropheus because they can graze on it over time, making for constant full bellies :) Other than that I feed Freeze dried brine shrimp, spirulina flakes from Kens fish and krill/spirulina pellets from Kens. That Southern Delight looks pretty good, I may have to try some!

Soylent Green?

Lol maybe not all fish like filafel's and veggie burgers lol I see huge debates in this brand vs that brand and I agree that there should be a sticky discussing not brands but which ingredients are best and which are not good for our fish. I have seen better color and desire for this brand for a friend of mines fish. They also combine two different pellets in there foods for variety. I believe that southern delight is trying to do a good job. So yes I'm gonna try it and if I like what i see ill continue to add it to my combination if foods, but like I said before, I won't feed soley one brand or type of food... Ever

Is this the Southern Delight that some of you are referring to?

If so, please post an actual ingredient list if you have one. Looking in from the outside, it looks like low-med quality food that one would find at your local Petand/Petsmart.

Go to Face Book and check out Aquatic Support Systems, it's my buddy Mike and Conways page, they have a few ingredient labels for you to check out. Definitely not a low or medium quality food by any means. You can also buy southern delight food from them directly.

There is no defense in feeding raw ingredients such as corn, soybeans ( especially those that sway towards the carnivorous side of the equation), and/or protein and fat derived from poultry sources, to fish, - except that it is FAR cheaper than using high quality marine based ingredients.

The debate begins, and ends there.

This has nothing to do with brand A or brand B, and everything to do with what we as fish keepers have learned over the past 100 years of feeding fish in captivity.

I stand by my original comments. I personally wouldn't feed that food to my fish if I was given a lifetime supply for free. My fish don't do corn, whole soybeans, or poultry processing plant waste.

Your going to wake the beast! RD and I have a bad history but one thing he knows is Fish Food Nutrition! Trust me when I say that if Southern Delight was beneficial to the fish community he would be the first to put that out there but its not so enough said....!
