The white padded room
For my next setup I want to go for as natural look as I can possibly achieve while still taking consideration on whats best for the fish. well I don't have any problems choosing the decor or anything but the only place that I'm stuck on is the color of the sand. Now I've officially said I'm going with sand but what color and thats why I want to hear what everyone else thinks is more natural while still better for the fish.

White
Now I like the natural look and style of white sand and how it looks good with piratically any decor. But the drawback with it is it would create too much glare and reflection and my more nocturnal fish might not like that and plus highly reflective substrate was supposed to bleach your fish's colors and make them duller and I don't want that.

Black
Black is good because it doesn't glare and some say it helps show off and bring out the colors of fish. But I just think it doesn't looks as natural as white and if I have any dark colored decorations setting on it (which most of them will) they might not be seen very well.

So thats what I've gathered about white and black substrates, but if anyone knows of another thing about the two that will be useful to know before buying then please tell me. But mainly I just want everyone else opinion and input on which one I should get. Thanks for everyone who posts.

icwould do white sand because the black might make the fish really freaked out and white looks way better how big is ur tank it also depends on size 20-5 is black sand and 20-? is white .

Id personally go black or tan. My next tank I am def going tan sand

Black does look great. It really does make the colours pop on the fish. But If youre looking for the most natural then white would be the way to go.
