Oh yeah?....I once saw a woman driving some car-can't recall the make-and she must have been really tall because she had her head sticking out the window while looking forward as if she had no headroom....I know.. unrelated but your story made me think of her.:ROFL:

Having an E-brake on an automatic transmission is the worst idea ever! I mean seriously! Who really uses there E-brake on there automatic car for an actual purpose besides drifting?

I use my e brake on my automatic car because my driveway is really steep.

But, if I turn my car on and hit reverse.. it still goes in reverse! :nilly:

You can tell who the experienced drivers are in this thread. lmao jkjk

Stick your parking pawl on an incline once, and you will always use your parking brake on even the slightest of hills....

Frankly, everything in the last ten pages you can argue there are times and places for a large proportion of it. Heated seat? Well, if it's cold, it's nice to sit on something warm. Wipers on your headlights? A dirty set of headlights can need a clean! Electric seats, mirrors, etc etc all perfectly reasonable.

You want pointless, you only need to go back a few years to the old Nissan and Honda accessory catalogues to find reams of pointless crap. My car <- came with options such as a Purifier;
airpurifier.jpg

knee pads that bolted onto the door card and centre console and a parcel shelf speaker system that rendered your boot (Trunk to you Americans) useless. Then there were things like the mirror spoilers;

Never mind all the racing accessories you could buy for your road car including Rally skid plates (just incase you were off roading in your small nissan hatch back) and aluminium foot rests for your front seat passenger. The best one, though, was the thing that Rolls Royce copied; a spring loaded umbrella stowed inside the rear quarter panel that you could access when you opened the drivers door;

genius.

And for you Honda JDM losers, who could forget the springy map light option, the Sunroof Spoiler on early civics, dash pods for your compass and the most hideous drinks holder known to man;

Yes, that really was a factory option.

We use the Emergency brake on an automatic when we work on our car ourselves, in our garage, after driving it up on ramps. Not paying some one else $120.00 an hour, plus parts, for some thing we can do our selves! Go to NAPA Auto parts store to get what ever you need, spend the afternoon doing the work yourself or with a friend or two. When you're done, you grill out and have a few cold ones to drink with our friends. Lots of money saved, and you know it was done the right way!:D You would really buy a car with out emergency brake? Not such a good idea! And if yours' doesn't work, it's usually because it wasn't used often enough, during the life of the car. Like the old saying 'if you don't use it, you lose it', pretty much goes with any emergency brake of any type.

^ yeah....i'd end up spending more then 120 bucks an hour because i jacked up my ride. working on your own car only does you good when you know what you're doing. i was raised by women, nuff said
