What do you usually do during your big water changes?

At one point I look/tried at a python but I had weird fittings for my sinks so I could not get them to work. I did have a 30gallon 'trash can' on wheels that I filled with water back in the day when the house was filled with tanks.
Now it's not a big deal with only 1 tank in the house
Ya know I've never really paid attention to what I say to the fish. I think its probably just me asking how they like their home and telling them they are pretty.

i usually start stiring up the gravel in the next tank so when I suck out that water, it gets most of the crap.

... I just use my 5 gallon buckets... It's a short walk from the bathroom to my room. Lugging buckets builds mucles? yeah....
If i really wanted to I could run to the menards or lowes and find a connector to work. but water changes are "my time". And I only have to change about 80 gallons a week. and I split my WC's up into 2 days. I haven't been able to use my python in years, since I broke down the 55 in the basement and moved my tanks into my room. But I'm keeping it for when we move hopfully sooner then later.
