Suzukis are the worst 4x4s out there.
I wouldn't go that far, Neal. Solid-axle Samurais with shackle swaps are quite capable trail vehicles that have the advantage of being able to fit between obstacles that similar vehicles like Jeeps or FJ40 Land Cruisers cannot. Now, I will say that the IFS Sidekicks to which WckedMidas refers are not necessarily known for their offroad prowess, largely due to the inherent travel limitations of a narrow IFS setup.

Here are my rides, nothing for wheeling though:

2005 Subaru Legay GT wagon (250 bhp turbo, 5 speed, AWD)
1998 Nissan Frontier XE 4x4 (4 cyl, 5 speed, Wrangler MT-Rs)
1969 VW Karmann Ghia (2110 cc, dual Weber 44 IDFs, merged exhaust)
2000 Kawasaki KLR 650 dual sport

The horrible power output on suz's really limits their ability.

If one was to swap the motor, it would be great. but if you are going that far, you might as well costumize it all.

Trails are about the onlything that keeps them in the game. They cannot compete with a jeep on anything else.

Do love the karrmann ghia, personally don't drive at all anymore. Last three cars were Gremlins, lol, I like them cause the most I have ever spent on one was $500 and they have all lasted at least a year no matter how bad I beat them up. There is one that is sitting in/on a mud flat near Johns river Wa. that is there because I just didn't feel like getting up to move it before the tide came in. My favorite car was a Hyundai Pony I bought in S.Korea. The reason it is my fav. is the ad I bought it from. "Sears Die Hard battery, brand new,$50, comes with car."Right now I ride a scoot board, 35cc. 25mph tops, 60miles on a 1/2 gal tank. I'm not ussually in a hurry.

the zuk i was talking about peacock was in one the pics i think i posted. it was streched 6 inchs. had vortec v6 chevy 5 speed mated to orignal suzki transfer case with gear reduction done. had lockers front and rear i forget size of tires. ****ing thing could wheel its balls off had like 6 or 8 inchs of lift from stock

My list:

1999 - 1999 Cagiva Mito 125
2000 - 1994 Nissan Sunny
2000 - 2000 Honda Civic SiR
2001 - 1994 Nissan Skyline GtsT
2002 - 1996 Nissan Skyline GTR R33
2005 - 1985 Honda Civic

When I return to Singapore next year most probably getting an Evo 9 or the new RX7 or GTR.

Pics of my baby...I will remember her forever.

Neal, I'm going to respectfully disagree with you. Gearing is everything. Several companies, including CALMINI, make a 5:1 transfer-case ratio for the Samurai, which results in a crawl ratio of over 80:1. You can get over anything with that gearing. Also, the power-to-weight ratio on Samurais is not bad, around 66 bhp for 2000 lbs or roughly 30 lbs/hp.

Most non-V-8 Jeeps before the port-injected 4.0l I6 came along in the late 1980s were saddled with worse power to weight ratios. LOL. I remember when the 258 cubic inch I6 in the CJs only made around 112 hp and the 360 cubic inch V-8 in the Grand Wagoneers only made 144 hp.
