I think what jcar is trying to say is he doesn't have a malicous intent as others do when they walk through those school doors. He is talking about only using a knife in a situation were defense is needed. I've been in a robbery first hand in my home its not cool at all. I know you have the right to defend yourself in your own home, but when something that serious happens to you, you change. If someone was to rob me now in public I wouldn't just lay down as I did before. Its best to be prepared and never have to use it then not be prepared and not in control of the situation or even be able to defend yourself. I see the laws as I would see them in my own home, but the right to bear arms I beleive goes hand and hand with self defense. This is what I see as freedom.

I totally agree and as I said I see the laws as I would rules in my own home, this is the foundation and principle our nation is built on. I wouldn't drink and drive but I have the right to get hammered at home and enjoy my lazy boy just as much as I do shooting my guns that I legally own with a permit and liscence. I dont carry them around with me though and go looking for trouble, there is a difference, and I know and understand it.
