I've got Oscars,Jags,Cons,and a Flowerhorn,but my GT is my favorite.He lives up to his name,so I keep him by himself.Like most other large cichlids,he greats me when I come home,and begs to be fed.But he also bites the hand that feeds him!!

Yup. I have learned not to put my hands in there after he has eaten.As long as I do water changes when he is hungry,he seems to leave me alone.

the most personable fish i have owned is definitely my female dovii, she can tell me apart from anyone else as she always wags her tale and looks happy, i am sure it is only because she associates me with food but i love it anyway, also when i am sad she goes all grey and faces me and when i look at her she turns side on and colours up brilliantly, it is like she is trying to make me feel better and it really works! she is a total bully with all tankmates, including armoured catfish but she accepts one bristlenose that lives in her cave, it is like her own personal cleaner so it is ok (she is now housed singly except for the bristlenose). i have not owned all that many fish, maybe 30 - 40 all up but i have never felt close to a connection to any of them as i have to this dovii named Reyna (queen in spanish), she has made me understand why people love this hobby so much! By the way i love this thread, the stories are great!
