Hey, I've been wanting an aquarium for a long time but the only trouble is i am away for around 4 days a week with work.
I've been looking at buying and keeping adult red belly piranha's as they do not need feeding every day, are there any other fish that i could maybe look into keeping? or would the piranhas be my best option? what do you all think is best for me?

i love keeping fish but haven't had an aquarium in a while since i started working away from home, would love if you could help me out :)
cheers, cai

I don't know that I'd feel ok having an aquarium when I'd be gone most of the week. That being said most fish would be fine but I'd get something you can use an auto feeder for so they don't have to wait 4 days between feedings. RPB's I don't think i'd try being away that often.

I'd almost bet the RBP's would eat eachother going that long without a feeding.

I would not go with RBP's go with some sort of cichlid that has some personality to it. I kept RBP's a couple years ago and they were very shy and became boring after a while.

Get a gulper catfish and stuff it before your 4 day stints. They are pretty cool but without too much interaction may be shy when you are too close to the tank, but once acclimated gulpers can be good eaters.

I have been looking at keeping cichlids too but heard they need to be fed every day?
Ive got a couple of african clawed frogs that i only feed once a week and are really healthy!

Like Predatorfishkeeper said pellets, flakes could be put in a automatic feeder.:)
