Oscars, this is probably the most abused fish second only to feeders!
Oh and short bodied anything!
And bettas! Poor bettas don't seem to get the best care either. :(

As for fish that don't "do it" for me, the only fish I "don't like" are fish that are so deformed that it severely effects their quality of life. Can't swim or eat properly, that kinda thing. :)

Oh yeah ANY short body fish

I dont like Synodontis either. I cant say why just dont

Plecos. I only owned one because a Petsmart employee said I needed one to eat the algae in my tank(this was years ago before I did research on my own). I remember thinking how ugly the bristlenose pleco looked. All they do is poop a ton and are ugly as hell to me.

Also, any genetically modified fish such as glo fish.

I say this tongue in cheek obviously, but if we go by what people don't like just in these 4 pages I guess there's no good fish to keep because just about every species outside of a smallmouth bass has been named here now LOL ;)

It's actually interesting to see how views and opinions on some fish can be so different between people. One fish's attribute is prized for having by one person is the reason the next person doesn't like it. And what one person thinks is active and interesting is viewed as boring by the next. Really interesting to see such polar opposite views among hobbyist all in the same passion.

Its a reflection of ones personality for sure. We've definitely seen enough conflict just on this forum lately to know there are a lot of opposing views among fishkeepers ha.

Ive definitely noticed trends that will take hold at times though. I think bichirs are much more popular today than they've ever been in my lifetime. Same goes for festae and crenicichla.

It is interesting. Same goes for everything in life really.
The foods people like, decor, fashion, even those we deem attractive varies greatly from person to person. Haha
It’s what makes life great. How boring it would be if everyone liked exactly the same things.

Yup, that's what got me thinking on this topic. There were just fish folks would be ga ga over and I'm all "Whut?" Or I like a fish and it's "Nah, ugly." But I think some fish are 'fads'...just like catching sunfish was a thing not too long ago. I'd see some of the weirdest arguments about fish like people were projecting themselves into it.
