i think most of those are photoshopped :)
eg the Pima
Arapaimas could never turn at that angle, they have a blood vessel associated with their spinal cord that can snap and kill them if they bend the wrong way.
 
I think some of those pics are photoshopped, specifically the ones with the pimas and Dat at the end. Still, I think overstocking is cruel to the fish and the fish are bound to fight or die from health issues. Feeding time must be crazy.

Then the pima probably doesn't turn at all. It's plausible, considering their explosive growth rate, that it was purchased as a juvenile who fit in there perfectly and then just grew into the tank, but the tank was never upgraded.


I overstock... but not to the point where there are more cubic units of fish than cubic units of water. I think that's a little sad. There IS such a thing as "population density stress". It's just not good for animals to be constantly crowded, not unless they've evolved for that (ants, bees, etc).

(PS: Population density stress is the same thing that transforms locusts from their small, cute stage into their huge, voracious stage.)
