What is everybody feeding their rays?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Massivore and Carnivore Hikari Pellets mixed with Cichlid diet pellets as the main basis of the diet.

A few times per week I feed frozen Krill Superba (large shrimps) normal Krill, bloodworm, smelt (fish) and some mussel.

I think variety is the key.

I also feed worms from the bait shop but not very often.

Bloodworms , Monster Pellets , Market Prawns , Sutchi Fillets.. :) The Aults in my tanks eat that.. The New pups will usually be introduced with bloodworms n blackworms den the prawns and slowly the fillets den pellets.. u could also powder the pellets and feed them to quarrantined feeders before letting ur rays fish for them..:D

I give my rays mussel, coalfish, market shrimp, mysis, bloodworms, earthworms, and a homemade mixture of shrimp, spinach, peas, spirulina, and vitamines.

I feed a large variety of pellets. Pretty much anything that will sink will get eaten

Massivore, sinking carnivore, sinking New life spectrum, sinking hikari cichlid pellets.

Massivore, nightcrawlers, blackworms, krill, shrimp, mussels, and anything else that happens to end up at the bottom of the tank:) my rays have always eaten everything, I have never had to starve them to get them to eat something new. I did try silversides once and the rays didn't touch them, I never tried them again but then again they grossed me out. My rays get nightcrawlers as their main staple just because they seem to like eating them better than the pellets. I wonder how many fish in the wild are being fed massivore?

Are you saying that your Ray eats 50 Massivore pellets...if so over what period...surely not in 1 day?

i think you would be shocked how much a big ray can eat per day

the mix of pellets i use i throw in 4-5 big handfuls (as much as your hand can hold) per day and they would eat more given the chance and thats just to feed 4 rays

i worked it out the other day that i prob spend about £1800 per year on pellets alone and thats buying them cheap in 1 kg bags from the US

that's alot of pellets richard. mind sharing the contact or url for order the pellet from the US. would like to compare the price end to end with the locals..
