I'm surprised to see that Mazuri Ray/Shark Gel isn't on the menu?

I have used this for a while now...and they love it!

I have a retic that I feed 6-7 nightcrawlers daily. One of them I inject with vitamins.

This is interesting. What kind of vitamins do you inject into the worm? Where do you get them? And do you have any trouble getting the rays to eat the injected worms? My ray's diet is not as varied as I'd like it to be and this seems like an idea that could be really useful to me.

i just find it a waste of time and money injecting stuff into food

if you feel the food doesn't have the right stuff in it then don't feed that and find something better

pellets should have everything in them you need as the company's that make them have spent thousands of $$$ developing it

i have been feeding pellets now for 5 years with no problems so i have no reason to look at other foods or vitamins

This was a very informative thread, I will start using some of these foods for my rays. I only use frozen blood worms, or if some of the cherry shrimp die, I throw them in there and comet feeders. I get them to eat them by busting the feeders stomach the first time, after that, they hunt on their own.

I use Vita Chem for freshwater. Its's available at my local fish store or on-line. I do not dose the water with it just put in the worm. My retic has no problem eating the worm when it is loaded. Since I have not been able to get him to eat a more varied diet. I try to do this for him.

just like with humans its not good to take to many vitamins

another way to look at it is look how many ray keeper on here alone and ask how many find the need to add extra vitamins

vitamins are just for sale to make the owner feel better about not giving the fish the right food

a healthy happy ray should eat anything you feed lets face it i cant see a ray swimming around in the wild and thinking prawn prawn prawn nope not eating that YES a worm just what i have been looking for all day :D

Humans don't eat pellets either, but that's all you feed your fish. It cuts both ways. :)

you right but i feed my cat and dog on pellets along with millions of other pet owners and they seam to be doing fine

do some research and you will find the dry foods are better for cats and dog it helps with digestion

your next point :ROFL::ROFL:
