My salvini. Had a rough start with the guy, he absolutely destroyed danios in quarantine and I quickly moved him to the 70. Unfortunately knifefish and chalceus don't do well with salvini level aggression so I sold him to a good home.

He wouldn't work with my current stock still but he looks like an absolute stud in the other guys tank. Deffo want more cichlids someday

Oh man! Salvinis are so cool. I have one in my fish room in a 20 gallon because he was too mean for a community tank. Cool little fish.

A 20 works for them?

Mine is pushing 5/6" in the other guys tank apparently and colourful as heck. I got a shy 1.5" silverish fish and now he's all grown up 6 months later

Hmmm. A 20 would work for a while but I'd prefer a 40 gallon breeder which I plan on upgrading him too.

Ah alright.

I also miss my pink tail chalceus, sold to another good keeper. Grew the fish from 1.5 -> 6" it was a beautiful eating machine. Too zippy though so I sold to a guy with a bigger tank and more grow out chalceus he was gonna cohab

Line breed herichthys carpintis 'escondido' no longer available. The breeder closed up shop about a year or two ago. I just got into carpintis when I got mine and didn't realize how good I had it. These pictures didn't do him justice. Was a really nice fish.
