I would skip the blood worms and beefheart both have to much protien.
Damn , really ? Oh well is brine shrimp safe?

i fed my africans spriluna flakes as well as cichlid pellets and occasionally frozen food

I have heard people say they feed theirs cucumbers can any one tell me what the benefit of that is and if the fish like it... My babies will eat anything! it's funny though, the bigger (year old-4-6 inchers) are getting picky they don't like the spirilina anymore, it does seem this has happened ever since I started giving them blood worms as a treat twice a week they LOVE them. I would not give them any beefheart though I did try that once and they didn/t like it anyways... They also dont like the 3mm NLS even the big 6 in fish seem to prefer the 1 mm. I havn't seen any 2mm for sale I will have to look online for that! Good luck with them they are very hardy fish to keep I have found!

My Africans eat pretty much anything. They eat as big of a variety as my oscars (shhh don't tell anybody that they are in the same tank). I give them both NLS and most of Hikari's product line. Can't decide which I like better. NLS is kinda expensive though. thatfishplace.com has some of the best prices I would say.
K bye.

I use omega 1 flakes. My fish seem to like it and they really look great, so i have no complaints. Never tried nls though.

Watch out w/frozen brine. It contains a lot of phosphorus and can effect water parms. over time if not kept in check. I have since turned to Mysis and the fish seem to enjoy it more. Same look as brine, but a little bigger in size and my fish hammer it.
