Also just to point out if you feed NLS you do not need to feed anything else, it has every bit of nutrition a african cichlid needs. Any thing else you feed is unnecessary, but its not going to hurt them to give them treat sometimes.
Watch out w/frozen brine. It contains a lot of phosphorus and can effect water parms. over time if not kept in check. I have since turned to Mysis and the fish seem to enjoy it more. Same look as brine, but a little bigger in size and my fish hammer it.

@ 2.5" I would go with 1mm, they might be able to fit 2mm in there mouth but they might have to chew it to swallow it. I prefer the small pellets I still feed 1mm to my 5"+ fish.
