What is the grossest thing you've done in the aquarium hobby!

idk if this counts but i got my daughter to try some fish food. oh the look on her face after she put it in her mouth. ps my wife did not approve.

I've tried massivore. I do not recommend.
I've gotten a staph infection from doing tank maintenance with stitches on my hand. The tank part wasn't gross, my hand was nasty though.

trust me i do too but now i seem to always come out on top of all the joksters that are about 55% of my friends but enough about me and let's get on with the dead fish smearing, fish food eating and fish poo filter face story's in this thread

I have had my clown trigger shoot water in my mouth.

had to fish chunks of a fish out of a tank once too like chunks....

Ive had all types of fish water in my system, I actually drink fish water on hot days when I cant be stuffed walking to the tap I just dunk my glass in the tank, should see my friends faces xD I dont see the big issue?

I have even had to clean filters with so much fish poo on them my hands went brown and it was slime all over my hand BUT the worst thing I ever had to do was for a job in a seafood restaurant (one where they catch the fish and kill them to cook) these barramundi looked like the kind of fish I wouldn't touch with my hand, white eyes, fungus growing all over there scales everything was just wrong the tank water stunk it was a nightmare. best part was we had to empty the tank and when I started the siphone my boss wasn't ready yet so the hose was just in this water filled with barramundi, By the time I got the water flowing I must of got at least a glass of water in my mouth/ on my shirt IT WAS GROSS there were chunks of like free floating fungus in the water I felt sick.

I also dont eat seafood, the taste is nothing to me and brings 0 joy so I feel others should eat it who enjoy it over me but I still dont enjoy watching fish die / being cooked etc well I was watching fish be killed for 4 hours straight in this shop. that made me feel pretty sick also was a horrible day I refuse to work in seafood restaurants now.

I use to tear down tanks for people and help relocate them. One day I got called out to do a 55 gallon that had an 18" platinum koi, some good sized gold fish, and a massive common pleco. I got there and found out that the tank hadn't had a water change in over five years and had never been cleaned. The water was so nasty it kept plugging my pumps. (One of my pumps would usually drain a 55 in about 5 minutes.) I ended up running two pumps for almost an hour and couldn't clear the filters on them quick enough. When we got close to the bottom the odor started taking over and I couldn't help but toss my coookies. The koi ended up slicing my palm open pretty good when I put it back into cleaner waters. Then on top of it all I ended up with an infection in the tips of my fingers a few days later that cost me more money to cure than the job made me in the first place. That was by far the absolute worst tank haul out I ever did.
