Where is the link to state that the survival rate is a fasle claim?



The survival rate can vary. It really depends on how the fish was hooked and how the fish is handled. From the studies that I have read it seems that the survival rates are very high. You can google to look for studies or you can look for peer reviewed articles about it online, thats how I usually find information on subjects I am intrested in. There are plenty more articles on this subject you can look for on you own time, but I have provided two studies to look at below:

These studies are obviously done in specific areas, but you can find more studies done in other areas and different fish populations.

thanx for the links. i have read things like this before, but was just to lazy to spoon feed this person that doesn't know what they are talking about.

also the study was MD not MN

i think he was just confused. i don't think he relized that 'steelhead' are rainbows. hence that red part of the qoute you put was in reference to the poll.
