What is your policy on tipping wait staff?

To spice this thread up, everyone should say their race when discussing their tipping policy.

If it's wait staff ~20% unless they do a really bad job, then it's just a couple bucks (but I mean REALLY bad job). Bartenders I usually tip more on how many drinks unless I get something to eat at the bar.

OMG.. LMAO!! I'm generous for my kind.... lol

I know. I'm such a wuss. I wish I could be more like the guy in Reservoir Dogs.

you and me both. well, i do it because i'm nice even though i disagree with the concept. but i usually tip 3-4 bucks on a bill under $50 regardless of how well i was served.

i don't like the idea of tipping and i am of the human race

Because there are existing stereotypes concerning tipping and certain races/ethnicity's (not asians or mexicans that I know of) and this thread could help shed some light on them with different examples from different people all across the country.

For instance, I am white and a horrible tipper (and proud of it -- get a job)... but in my area of New York the African Americans are known for not tipping at all...

I like confrontational topics. My favorite Lobby threads usually get locked before I can even post.

Well I don't like to tip, but I tip anyways, and I'm an American.
