A single giant danio is not a good idea. You need a group of 6 or so. I like the clown loach idea, but they should be in the 125 when full grown.

yeah then i gues thats a no on the loaches haha, im keeping my 125 for my 2 oscars, my silver arow, and my dwarf ray.

maybe no danios eather

what type of cichlid is a JD and severum?

are they from lake malawi?

These are CA/SA cichlids not African

Your JD is a central american cichlid and your Severum is a South American cichlid. In the wild, the JD is from hard alkaline waters (high PH) and the Severum is from soft acidic waters (low PH). I have mixed the two myself but it did not work out too well. JD's are pretty reclusive and can be territorial and mean. While the severum can hold his own ok, it is no fighter and therefore would be better off in a separate tank.

No reason not to put the sev and JD in the 125 along with the Os, then you can stock your 55 with whatever you want (as long as it fits).

I like the danio idea, but I would get 8-10 of them for a nice school, and skip the loaches.

:irked:NOOO!!! don't get rid of your JD...he would be a great centerpiece fish and you could get rid of the Sev and buy some smaller cichlids, loaches, cats, or rainbowfish!!!:headbang2

Do not put a flowerhorn with your severum he will kill your severum.
