  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
heres my 125 with lace (1.69 a pound ) i added alot more lace stone and some really big old dry corals since this pic so i wont be posting any pics yet as it will be in the totm contest ,.but this is what my tank used to look like. i personally wouldnt add lava rocks or bricks to my tank because any way you stack bricks there an eyesore. and lava rocks are just too ruff. post some pics when your done. im really interested in seeing how you put together your rockwork.people may tell you your crazy for buying rocks for so much i have close to 200 pounds! but dont listen its way worth it because of how beautiful it will look.IMG_4352.JPG

You will want to watch the Fronts since you have Lace Rock in with them. Round rocks are a better choice. The ease with which you can startle Fronts and they dart around the tank will cause serious injury to them if they run into it.

I use lace rock and holey rock in all my tanks except my front tank whcih has large round rocks and some flat rocks which I may end up removing so they don't get injured.

Exactly what I do, but no flat ones in the front tank...

lace for mbuna
Holey for everything else but fronts
Fronts round large river rocks...

its a rare ocassion they run into the rocks, there are 8 caves and none of my fronts have had a scratch in like 6 months. round rocks are hidious in my opinion thats why i only use lace in my front tank.
